Miss Mabel

MabelMabel, who we affectionately prefer to call, Miss Mable –  was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma in June of 2013. She has gone through six total treatments of chemotherapy. Four treatments were done before the doctors and her parents agreed the best course of treatment would be to resect as much of the tumor as possible.

The initial thought was they would be able to remove 70-80% through a 12-14 hour operation of the tumor but a true miracle occurred and they were able to completely remove the tumor! Yes,  you are reading this correctly; they removed 100% of the tumor!!

Due to the nature of the resection, the oncology team recommended two additional chemo treatments post-surgery to hopefully get any “straggler cells” in hopes the tumor will not return or spread anywhere else.

Mabel completed her chemotherapy in mid-November and had her first MRI scan shortly thereafter. They are saying “unofficial results” would take at least 24-48 agonizing hours but the “official” results would be released soon. Mabel’s parents are hoping and praying the scan comes back ALL CLEAR!

Please keep little Mabel in your thoughts and in your hearts.

She still has a long road ahead of her, and we’ll be right there, supporting our Lil’ Miss Warrior and her beautiful family.
