PAX proudly introduces our newest warrior, Bowen.

Shortly after an amazing family vacation in July, 2016, Bowen “Bo” started complaining of leg pain, had a loss of appetite and would spike fevers randomly throughout the day. With his condition not improving (just two weeks after his 3rd birthday), Bo was taken to the emergency room. He was given the diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).

Bo’s family’s world was completely flipped upside down, again. Just two years earlier, Leo, Bo’s older brother, was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition. His parents met with several doctors and read a lot about ALL. Bo spent 9 days receiving inpatient care at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.

It has been nearly two years since Bo’s diagnosis. He has endured oral chemo, steroids, intravenous chemo, spinal taps, transfusions, and bone marrow biopsies. Most importantly, his family has received countless, truly endless, prayers and love from family, friends & strangers.

Still, even after all that, Bo has continued to amaze us! He is smart, funny and very independent. He loves keeping up with big brother, Leo and recently completed 4K! We hope Kindergarten is ready for this dynamo. This summer, Bo has taken to the baseball field to showcase his talents. Our slugger keeps on swinging!

Bo’s family knows the road ahead will be filled mountains and valleys. They take comfort knowing that the support of the #boknowsbrave and #paxlovealways teams will be by their side every step of the way!
